Springtime in Texas!

Well, as usual I have not posted in a really long time, but wanted to share these pictures of the Texas Bluebonnets. Our beautiful daughter is growing and becoming a young lady...

I didn't take any pictures of the boys this day, they would not have appreciated the beauty. I'll try to get pictures of them in a more 'manly' setting later on.

We have been so extremely busy, the calendar is always full. I'll take it for this season though, one day they will be grown and the calendar will likely be a lot slower.

Please read this story, it is heartbreaking, but maybe you or someone you know, or someone they know will be the right family.

Back to School!

Our annual tradition - first day of school picture at the front door

I can hardly believe it is time for Back to School! This year has just flown by, as usual. We had a moderately busy summer, trying to keep the kids busy with camps, trips, chores and fun.

We just had our two-year post placement home visit. Can you believe that - almost two years since we traveled to Russia to bring Darya into our family! Two years ago today we were on our way to Russia for our 2nd (court) trip. It does not seem like it has been that long at all! Time flies!

Darya has grown so much they would hardly recognize her now. And the boys; Ryan has turned into a teenager/young man so quickly he is not a little kid any more! Joshua is still a kid though, I hope he stays that way just a little bit longer!

We have been keeping busy as ever. I don't find much time to blog, not that I ever did, huh? I am trying out Facebook now. It's easier to make quick little comments rather than write long stories. However you find us, we're glad to have you follow along.

If you like, hop on over to my friend Alice's blog "Hoping for Girl" and give her a big congratulations on bringing home her little Russian doll just a few weeks ago. She is precious!

Also, anxiously awaiting the announcement of Kate's (From Russia with Love) new addition. Her blog should be public again shortly! Can't wait to see her new princess!

I'm sure there is so much more happening out there in blog-land, these two just come to mind.

Love and huggs to anyone still reading!

Kay

Cake!

Kate, I hope you're reading... I saw on Debbie and Rachael's blogs that we are eating cake with you today! So, here's me wishing you a quick wait at this next bus-stop of your journey. (Yeah, I know it's pie, let's not get technical)

There is nothing sweeter than a brand-new baby! One of my dear friends had her long-awaited baby yesterday. I was blessed to pracitce using my fancy new camera at the hospital!

Happy Anniversary!

Today is our 23rd wedding anniversary! I cannot even believe I can even write that (since I'm only 20 something myself - haha)

I have the best husband in the world - no really, I do. He is not perfect, because I am not married to Jesus, but he is perfect for me. I was crazy stupid to get married at 19, we hardly even knew each other, but God had a plan. He had a plan for us and our kids and I would not change any of it! We have both grown and changed over the years, yet part of us remains as we were on our wedding day. There is no one else in the world that I would rather share my life with.

We had a nice evening just the two of us at the Cheesecake Factory restaurant. That is a really nice place - who knew? I didn't even know it was a restaurant until just recently, we thought they just sold Cheesecake. We shared a big salad and then both ordered pasta entres. We had plenty of both left over for lunch tomorrow. Of course, we both ordered Cheesecake, Dan had the Tiramisu Cheesecake and I had White Chocolate Caramel Macadamia Cheesecake - both were decadent and sweet and neither of us could finish to the last bite - it was sooooo delicious, but we were soooo stuffed!

I love my husband more and more all the time.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
